What records do you need for a surgical guide?
CBCT in DICOM format, intraoral scan or impression, bite, and your prescription with implant system, sizes, and target positions. We virtually plan the case and send the design for your review and approval before printing.
Tooth-borne vs tissue-borne vs pin-supported — which is right?
Tooth-borne is the most stable when adjacent teeth are available. Tissue-borne for fully edentulous arches (often pin-fixated for stability). Pin-supported when extraction is part of the protocol or tissue alone won't seat reliably.
Can a guide pay for itself?
On full-arch cases, yes — the guide reduces reposition risk, drill error, and prosthetic remake costs from misplaced implants. For All-on-4 / All-on-6 and immediate-load protocols, surgical guides are widely considered standard of care.
