Abutments Support FAQs

Find answers about product specifications, workflows, and what to expect for each case.

When should I choose a Zirconia abutment over Titanium?

Zirconia for anterior esthetic cases where the abutment color may show through thin tissue or translucent crowns. Titanium for posterior cases, bruxers, deep margins, and any case where strength is the priority.

CAD/CAM vs UCLA Casting — when do I prescribe each?

CAD/CAM is the modern default — milled, precise, and faster to design. UCLA Castings remain useful when you need a traditional cast workflow, when the implant system has a specific UCLA component requirement, or when you're integrating with a PFM cast crown framework.

Can you mill or cast abutments for any implant system?

We support major implant systems (Straumann, Nobel, Neoss, Dentsply Sirona, and more). Specify the implant system, platform, and connection type on the Rx and we'll confirm component availability for both CAD/CAM and UCLA workflows.
